CLEAN
CLEAN:
  • To obtain optimum adhesion, the bonding surfaces must be well clean, dry and unified. Clean substrate with an 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).
  • NOTE: The technical data provided here should be considered representative or typical only and should not be used for specification purposes. User should evaluate the product to determine whether it is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for user’s method of application

PRESSURE
PRESSURE:
After applying, the tape should experience at least 15 psi (100 kPa) in roll down or platen pressure.
  •  NOTE: The technical data provided here should be considered representative or typical only and should not be used for specification purposes. User should evaluate the product to determine whether it is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for user’s method of application
TEMPERATURE
TEMPERATURE:
Apply at 10-26ᵒC (50-60ᵒF).

TIME
TIME (instant tack and room temperature):
After application, the bond strength will increase as the adhesive flows onto the surface over time as the below table shows:

IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW ABRADING A SURFACE:

You can create additional surface area to increase adhesion. A surface with many micro-scratches  may have up to 40% additional available surface area, translating to higher ultimate strength and greater initial adhesion.
If you decide to abrade a surface, remember to clean it before and after the process.

A GENERAL RULE:

Also remember: min. 60 sqcm (4 sqin) of our acrylic tape per 1 kg of static shear load.

Typically, acrylic foam tapes are not intended to bond PP, PE, PTFE, silicon and rubber.
